Alexander J.D. Westra, Born in 1992, Archaeologist, bachelors from the University of Edinburgh on Scottish Medieval Settlement patterns in the Lothian Area according to Annales Method, then Masters from SOAS (School of Oriental & African Studies) on the relationship between archaeology, art, and politics. Co-directed the Yadlee Stone Circle Project, a landscape investigation on the relationship between astronomy and Scottish Iron Age Stone circles, Founder and editor-in-chief of the first archaeology student journal called ‘InSitu’, excavated Scotland, England, Greece, Turkey, and Romania. Now, a doctoral student at Henan University exploring the ancient Silk Road, ancient Greek and Chinese science and technology transfers and environmental archaeology at the School of Environment & Planning, Centre for Yellow River Civilization & Sustainable Development.

 

This lecture covers the first part of series of lectures on the History and Geography of Greece. This first part explores the enduring structures that characterizes the Greek Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic. An introduction to the relationship between human society and culture and geographical and environmental features.
