2015年9月16日，正在美国宾夕法尼亚印第安纳大学（Indiana University of Pennsylvania，IUP）进行学术访问的艾少伟副教授，在IUP的Susquehanna Room面向全校师生做了一场题为“The Exploration on the Spatial Pattern of the Mosque-centered Trade in China: a Case Study of the Eastern Grand Mosque of Shunhe Hui District in Kaifeng”的学术报告。学术报告受到了IUP地理与区域规划系主任John Benhart Jr.、亚洲研究中心主任Alan Baumler、人类学者Francis Allard的高度评价，与会学者在报告后围绕中国回族穆斯林的相关问题进行了较为深入的交流。学术报告由IUP的地理与区域规划系（Department of Geography and Regional Planning）、亚洲研究中心（Asian Studies Program）联合主办。
